20 hours, 20 rounds, 100 km. Charity run for the Bas van de Goor Foundation, straight through Cronesteyn park.

Running together for

For twenty hours we run rounds through Cronesteyn park. All 20 rounds or just a few: every kilometer counts towards the cause.

The proceeds go to the Bas van de Goor Foundation, which gets people with diabetes moving. You can sponsor per completed round.

De Volgende Ronde is a Backyard Ultra-style running event. Every hour a new 5-kilometer round starts. You run as long as you can. Or until the final round at 15:00.

Run along

Choose your rounds via your start time. From a single round to the full 100 km.

Sponsor a runner

Support per completed round. Every euro goes to the foundation.

Come cheer

Night shift on the sidelines, coffee in hand. That counts as joining too.

Bas van de Goor Foundation

Of each €15 registration fee, €7 goes toward your personal patch and €8 is donated to the Bas van de Goor Foundation. This foundation supports children with type 1 diabetes. So they can exercise and play without worry.

💛 Why this event

Rick, one of our most loyal members, has type 1 diabetes himself. Every year he raises sponsorship money for the Bas van de Goor Foundation. This year, we as the CrossFit Leiden community want to use this great event to support Rick in that mission. Together we can make a difference.

How does it work?

A new round every hour

On the hour, every hour, the starting signal sounds. You have 60 minutes to run 5 km.

Late = out

Late = you're out. Not just that round, not the next one either. Game over.

Choose your start time

Start at 20:00 for all 20 rounds, or join later for fewer rounds.

At 15:00 it's the final round. We finish together as a team.

Location

The Patch System

At the start, your personal patch hangs on the wall in the gym. As long as you're running, it stays there. So everyone can see how many runners are still going.

Have to stop? Your patch comes down. And you get to keep it as a memento. A tangible reminder of your challenge.

The patch is funded from your registration fee (€7). The rest (€8) goes to the Bas van de Goor Foundation.

The route

Each round is 5 km through Park Cronesteyn. A beautiful loop through Leiden's nature. Start and finish at CrossFit Leiden.

🌙 During the dark hours at night we run 10 rounds on our own running track at the gym.

Rules

  • Be in the starting area 1 minute before the hour
  • Late = you're out. Not that round, not the next. Game over.
  • Open to members, former members and friends of CrossFit Leiden

Finish together

The power of De Volgende Ronde is finishing together. At 15:00 we start the last round. We gather at the gym, grab a drink, take a group photo and celebrate every round you completed.

Everyone receives a unique patch as a keepsake. Regardless of how many rounds you ran.
